2019 : MASS DEFECTION HITS APC AS OVER TWO HUNDRED MEMBERS DUMP PARTY FOR PDP IN SAGAMU LOCAL GOVERNMENT

  The ruling All Progressive Congress in Sagamu local government have been hit with fresh defection as the party lost over two hundred of her members to the Peoples Democratic Party yesterday.

  The members, who are believed to be the footsoldiers of the ruling Party in Igbosoro estate, Ogijo (ward 10), officially joined the PDP yesterday and highlighted the failure of APC-led administration in the state as reason behind their decision.  On why they opted for the PDP, Mr Abdulwasiu Mustapha who led the decampees said they were overwhelmed by the political philosophy and philantropic gestures of the Senator representing Ogun East senatorial district;  Senator Prince Buruji Kashamu.

  "Today, we decided to join the Peoples Democratic Party based on the activities of highest political office holder of the party in Ogun State;  Senator Prince Buruji Kashamu.  Despite the fact that we worked vigorously for the All Progressives Congress in 2015, our community has been in darkness for a long period of time and no one came to our rescue.  We have pleaded and written series of letters but all to no avail.  We can no longer suffer and smile. We have made our decision and so shall it be. Come 2019, we are fully ready to work for thr victory of PDP.  The party which meant well for the masses and jokes not with the welfare of her people", Mr Mustapha explained.

  The Peoples Democratic Party Chairman in Sagamu Local Government; Otunba Kola Akinyemi joyfully welcomed the decampees and congratulated them for making a right choice.  He described Senator Princr Buruji Kashamu as a man who's solely concerned with the well-being of his people and one who keeps to his promises.  Otunba Akinyemi urged the decampees to work hand-in-hand with the organ of the Party in their ward to position the PDP for victory ahead of the forthcoming general election.
