Profile Of Hon Alaba Lawal : The Man Who Intends To Represent Ogun East Senatorial District At The National Assembly

Hon Isiaka Alaba Lawal was born on the 20th of February, 1963 into the famous Debolu Ogunseruwa's Royal family of Ogijo by Mr and Mrs Salihudeen Lawal of Blessed memory. He had his elementary education at St Paul Anglican school, makun, Sagamu in 1978. He proceeded to  St John Anglican grammar school, Ode-lemo where he earned his Senior Secondary School Certificate in 1983. Two years later, he worked briefly at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, haven obtained a certificate course at the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi in 1985.

  As a visionary man whose urge for qualititative education knows no bound, he enrolled for teacher's education program and was certified by N T I, Kaduna. Hon Alaba Lawal earned Diploma in Law course at the polytechnic, Calabar in 2004 before opting for a degree course at the National open University where he studied peace and conflict Resolution. Presently, he is running his LLB Programme at the National Open University.

*WORKING EXPERIENCE*

JOJE, as he is fondly called by friends and political associates, worked at Cayman finance company in Ibadan as Finance Executive trainee in 1986 and after probational period of diligent service, he was promoted to Finance  executive  operations (OPS) . He was also the Managing Director of Midas Gold Finance Company in 1988. Unique international finance company employed him a year later as the Executive Director.

 Haven gathered varieties of knowledge and experience, Hon Alaba Lawal established his Finance company in 1992 which he named 'AIMATES & Associates'. The company specializes in Equipment leasing and micro credits.  In 1997, he established Greenfield International schools, Ogijo and followed it up with the establishment of GISS Enterprises in 2013 which deals with general contracting and supplies. In 2014, Hon Alaba Lawal founded Caribbean school of  Health Technology being administered by at least, twenty-five competent and qualified lecturers  in various  disciplines.

*POLITICS*

 Hon Alaba Lawal joined active politics in 1988 as a Liberia convention party member and was later appointed as political assistant to the then IMG (Ibadan municipal government); Chief Funso Alayande. He served as a Councillor in Ward 10 (Ogijo/Likosi area of Sagamu Local Government) from 2004 to 2007. In  2011, he was validly elected as Peoples Democratic Party's Candidate for OGHA election in Sagamu State Constituency I. He was once an MHR aspirant in Remo Federal Constituency and was as at then, the Peoples Democratic Party Chairman in Sagamu Local Government. Hon Alaba Lawal equally served as Deputy Chairman of PDP in Ogun East Senatorial District and is presently the Coordinator of Omo Ilu Foundation in Sagamu Local Government. He is happily married with Children.
