Ward Congress : Shote Commends Ogun PDP, Delegates For Peaceful Conduct
Leading House of Representatives aspirant for Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, Barrister Taiwo Kabir Shote has commended the Engr. Adebayo Dayo- led Ogun Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the newly elected ward delegates for their peaceful conduct during Saturday's ward delegates' congress in the state.
Shote gave the commendation weekend while speaking on the outcome of the exercise.
The legal expert, who described the entire process as peaceful and democratic, commended the party members for exhibiting maturity and patience during the exercise across the 236 wards in the state.
"I want to commend the leadership of the party in the state, the delegates and members of the party for the peaceful conduct of the congress. Ogun PDP has made a bold step towards reclaiming power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.
"We have demonstrated a high level of internal democracy in the party by organising a peaceful and orderly ward delegates' congress. I enjoin members of our party to ensure they contribute to the success of the subsequent congress by abiding by the guidelines of the party. I congratulate all the elected delegates," Shote said.
The exercise was conducted through concensus in most of the wards but where consensus was not possible, the exercise was conducted through open ballot system under the supervision of the representatives of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), State Security Service (SSS) and Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
