OGUN 2019 : I SUPPORT THE IJEBU AGENDA (Series III)

   My firm resolve to support and elect a man from Ijebu as the Governor of Ogun State in 2019 remains unwavering. In the academic cycle,  Ijebu Igbo is never left out. When I say 'IJEBU LOKAN',  I  have a million reasons,  few of which I disseminated to you in my previous series .

 Ijebu Igbo has produced more than twenty five professors.  Some of which are ; Professor Layi Ogunsola (former vice chancellor, O O U),  Professor Titi Hassan,  Professor Ade Ogunye (former lecturer, UNILAG), Professor Babatunde Osotimehin (former minister of health), Professor Mrs Adesomowo (Proprietress,  Sure Success International), Professor Ayo Banjo (former vice chancellor, University of Ibadan), Professor Oluwole (Former CMD,  Ogun State Teaching Hospital) Professor Aroyewun, Professor Adesina (former minister of Agric) among others. These gentle men have done exceedingly well in their various fields and added their quotas to the development of Ogun as a State.

     In the economic cycle,  Ijebu Igbo produced some of the industrious persons.  Among which are; Chief Timothy Odutuyo Kuti (Founder of Abusi Edumare Academy in Ijebu Igbo), Alhaji Popoola Salami Chief Isamosta Ashiru Okesola p.k.a Isamo Leader (the first person to import  Robbins Blue in the early 50s), Chief Onasile a.k.a Arobieke, Chief Adeleye (the most industrious cocoa merchant) and most recently, the latest Business Tycoon, Prince Buruji Kashamu (C E O, Kasmal Group of Companies).  Many people has likened the successful entrepreneur to the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo  Abiola in terms of courage and generosity.

I can categorically say Ogun State,  South West and Nigeria at large has never seen an individual take the stage by storm like Senator Prince Buruji Kashamu did in a most audacious manner since M K O left the scene. His love for the masses is second to none. Little could one then wonder how he won his first election, beating his closest rival by over fifteen thousands votes in 2015.

 The people spoke with their thumbs and it is very obvious  that they will continue to do so for him if he vies for any political post in the future.

Ofcourse, Ijebu Igbo do have front runners in politics before his emergence.  We have responsible, agile and reliable sons like; Senator Abraham Aderibigbe Adesanya,  Senator Biyi Durojaiye,  Senator Lekan Mustapha,  Senator Adegbenga Sefiu Kaka all of which are active and descent politics players.

Senator Prince Buruji Kashamu is not an exclusion of this trait (active and descent politics) as he remains a law abiding citizen who has never disrespected the rule of law.

  Conclusively, the contributions of men and women in Ijebu Igbo to the economic progress of Ogun State can never be sidelined or overlooked. The true sons and daughters of this town must stand and speak in just one voice like they have been doing. The time of gallivanting over their rights is gone !   There is always a right time and the right time is NOW !!!!
